How would you describe/rate your experience working with the ABV staff in the USA? They were great! They gave me plenty of information prior to the trip and where quick to answer my questions.
How was the local ABV Director and the support provided in-country? Beatrice is wonderful. I love that lady!
What was your favorite memory of this trip? Building relationships with the girls at the orphanage.
What was the most difficult thing you experienced? Seeing the affects of abuse and abandonment on the orphans in the orphanage. They are hurting girls in need of a lot of love. Keep sending Volunteers their way!
What was the one thing you wished you were better prepared for?
Any tips for future volunteers… (clothing, travel, personal items, donations, sightseeing etc)
Come with a good attitude and be prepared to maintain that attitude even when exhausted. The bottom line is it is not about you, just keep loving others.
Personal Paragraph (ABV Program Testimonial):
I had an incredibly difficult yet wonderful experience. I had the opportunity to work with beautiful children living without health and those without a family at the orphanage. Ive had to accept that I will never see a tangible change in their lives; all I can do is love them here and now with hope that thats enough. I am glad I came, and I hope I had an effect on their lives just as they had an effect on mine.
