My Favorite Memory: Taking kids to go sailing practice. One day they let me take a sunfish and I got to take turns with a bunch of the kids – we were all having so much fun. They loved getting to go with me + we laughed all the while.
In general, having all the kids sitting on my lap, hugging, pulling at me all at once.
I was surprised that….kids were so quick. Nothing gets by them unnoticed. They do not forget anything that you tell them.
The most difficult thing I experienced was….feeling the lack of appreciation from the kids. Thank you were scarce, and they needed more no matter how far out you extended yourself.

My best received lesson…mean what you say. Every child is 100% different from the next. Listen more – speak less.
Tip for future volunteers… (Clothing, travel, personal items, donations, sightseeing etc)
Donate: vitamins, plastic tupperware, toilet papers, napkins, sponges.
Sightseeing: Caye Cauker, cave tubing
Clothing: don’t overpack, no need for tons of clothing, one pair of pants is more than enough
Personal Paragraph (Testimonial):
Coming to Belize have me a chance to clear by mind, find my values and my goals. I learned, experienced + loved so much here. Healthiest decision I have made for myself.

How would you rate your experience working with the ABV staff, both in the USA, and in-country?
Available, helpful and “user friendly”.
How would you describe your accommodation ( ie: host family, on-site, shared housing etc)
Great. Comfy.
Are you willing to speak to other potential ABV volunteers? Sure.
